A small village in the redwoods, a few steps from the creek.

That's how one guest put it after a stay. The cabins and a wing of rooms sit apart under the trees, with ferns and wildflowers between them and the creek running below all year.

The cabins have what the lodge calls a log-cabin feel: wood-paneled walls, open-beam ceilings, a fireplace, a kitchen, and a private deck for a barbecue with family and friends. The rooms are simpler and private, with morning coffee, a microwave and a small fridge. At night, sit out and look at the stars.

Six ways to stay, from a creekside cabin to a dome for two.

Pick a postcard to see the photos, the beds and what's inside. Pets are welcome, and the first one stays free.

Guests come for the redwoods. Their reviews are mostly about Masood.

Mr. Masood runs the lodge, and reviewers mention him by name. The same things come up again and again: he's there when you arrive, he makes sure you have what you need, and he's glad to help you find your way around the area.

The lodge has hosted weddings and private events, and Masood is glad to host retreats, family reunions and company gatherings too. The grounds have a gazebo, a campfire pit, an outdoor grill and picnic areas, and the cabins, rooms and domes put everyone to bed without a drive down the mountain.
